About six inches of snow and ice covered my hood and laid the smack down on the rest of the DC Metro area today. I had actually taken the day off to spend some quality time with the wifey, but the snowpocalypse had different plans for my Valentine’s Day.

Our power crapped out for three hours this morning. Of course this happened after my alarm went off (I forgot to deactivate it last night).

I shoveled approximately 807 pounds of snow. I survived but my broom and snow shovel died a bitter death.

We actually did drop the boy off at Grandma’s so we could have a “romantic” lunch. We both ate too much grub and considered going home to take a nap while grammy watched the boy. We decided to forgo the nap so we could get a new broom. The exciting things parents do when the kids aren’t around.

  1. One thing to note. I helped a neighbor push his car out and tonight he stopped by with a bottle of champagne. Pretty cool!
