Everyone’s gone zombie crazy! Here are just a few of the zombie-rific things I have found lately.
- MSNBC has an article about zombies as the ultimate movie monster
- Threadless has re-printed their awesome In Case of Zombies t-shirt
- The Village Voice has a photo gallery of “zombies” at the 28 Weeks later preimier
- Even Wikipedia is on the undead band wagon with an extensive list of Zombie flicks
Zombies have been around for a long time, but they have recently made their way to the forefront of pop-culture. This attention kinda reminds me of the wave of Ska music that invaded the radio in the 90′s. In that it’s an entertainment niche that has always been around but the pop spotlight has brought it to the forefront for a little show and tell.
Who knows how long the living dead will be all up in our grill. I suppose when they start shilling Coke and appearing on Oprah we will know they have reached critical pop culture mass and jumped (or eaten?) the shark. But until that time I will bask in the rotting glow of the zombie invasion.
Awesome choice for a title! I never would have thought of that…
they’re only the new black if they’ve been decomposing for long enough.
I love zombie flicks, there is just something about them that makes them so fun to watch.
We used to live on the other side of the fence from the Frederick graveyard. Being that we had a first floor apartment, I always told my girlfriend we would be the first to go in a zombie outbreak.
@ Nate – thanks man!
@ engtech – like a banana, ewww
@ patrick – i agree, i don’t know why I like zombie flicks so much, they are usually cheesy, too gorey, and low budget, but they just capture my imagination some how. At least with there current popularity we are getting some higher quality zombie entertainment.
