I nearly lost you there.

This is my old trusty Sony Cyber-shot (what a cheese ball name) camera …

00

It was our first digital camera. Soon after purchasing it the flash broke. When we got a new camera for Christmas one year we put Ol’ Cybie in mothballs. But recently I started carrying it around with me so I could deluge you with my sub par photos of hanging monster trucks, cow buts, and clouds.

I turned it on today and it started beeping at me and flashing the code E:92:00. I thought Ol’ Cybie was heading for trash heap and I would be without a camera until I could snag one from the local pawn shop on the cheap.

But on a whim I tried a search for E:92:00 on the InterWeb and came across this thread. I learned that Ol’ Cybie could be fixed with some folded paper under the battery lid. A little origami with some scrap paper and I was back in business.

Thank you InterWeb, you saved Ol’ Cybie from an untimely demise :)

I love stuff like that. I’ve just started going back to school after a 5 year hiatus in order to get a second degree. The other day, I was getting ready to take a test and had to pull out my old mechanical pencil that hadn’t seen action in quite a long time. It still functioned perfectly, but I noticed the eraser was very low.

So I tugged out the metal cartridge that holds the eraser to see if I had any more slack. I was greatly amused to discover that I had apparently crammed scraps of paper underneath the eraser years ago, in order to extract every possible amount of erasing.

I had a good chuckle over that.
